Why do I need AC Maintenance?
Experts agree that A/C maintenance encourages better energy efficiency & often prevents system failure and unexpected costs of parts failure during the hot season, and in turn improves your home comfort.

Why should you schedule an A/C tune-up?

AC Maintenance targets cleaning and prevention. Without them, your air conditioner would become filthy with dirt & often mold buildup, and dirt can be a cooling system’s number one enemy. During a tune-up, the technician will carefully remove certain components, gaining access to the entire cooling system. He will professionally clean all of the components, using specialized cleaning solutions as necessary on the coils and motor, and inspect parts & the entire system to help prevent part failures which can often cause system failures.

Why is spring the ideal time to schedule the service?

In truth, you can schedule an A/C tune-up at any time, as long as the technician can run the air conditioner to test it. But the spring season holds the most benefits in terms of timing the service, and here’s why:

  • In the spring, we make time for air conditioning maintenance before the ramping up of heating season. You’ll be able to schedule an appointment before the cooling season starts.
  • In summer, we are very busy providing emergency cooling services to our customers and might not be able to squeeze a maintenance appointment into the schedule as quickly as you’d like.
  • Having an A/C tune-up before the cooling season begins gets the system in shape, helps improve efficiency and possible prevention of system failure when the season is here.
Professional maintenance

Many people are a Jack -Of-All Trades. There are many reasons you do not want to tune-up your system yourself. Our professional HVAC techs will be Providing you with years of experience and training in:
  • Measuring the system’s refrigerant levels, charging the system with more as necessary
  • Checking the copper lines, ensuring that refrigerant doesn’t leak out of the A/C
  • Assessing the condition of the condensate drain, looking at the base pan for restrictions and checking the condensate lines for blockages
  • Treating the condensate drain with an algaecide solution, if necessary
  • Watching for signs of mold in the drain pan or on the coils
  • Cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils, removing dirt that’s gathered on these components
  • Checking the air handler and compressor, watching for signs of wear and cleaning the components
  • Inspecting the controls, wiring and electrical connections
  • Testing the controls for proper operation
  • Calibrating the thermostat to ensure the air conditioner responds accurately to temperature readings
  • Measuring the temperature differential at the return and supply registers
DIY tasks

Over the course of the cooling season, you can boost the results of the A/C tune-up, as well as the system’s overall performance, by engaging in these maintenance tasks:
  • Check the air filter every month. Whenever the filter looks dingy, dark or dirty, replace it with a new filter. A dirty filter obstructs airflow into the unit, which can eventually cause a system failure.
  • Be diligent about keeping the space around the condenser clear. Don’t let grass clippings or other vegetation, which can impede airflow and coil efficiency, accumulate around the condenser.
Proven benefits of the service

 A/C tune-ups will help provide:
  • Increased A/C efficiency
  • Lower energy bills
  • Fewer repairs
  • An extension of service life, often adding as many as five years to the life of the air conditioner
  • A reliable air conditioner that’s much less likely to break down
  • Lower lifetime costs, or the costs associated with owning and operating the system over its life span
  • Safety, as a system that’s cared for is less likely to create hazardous conditions in the home
